Dear Friends,
This will be the last newsletter of 2024. The Portal will not be emailed on either Dec. 26th or Jan. 2nd. Rest assured though, there will be an email reminder about our January 8th General Meeting: Wine & Cheese Tasting with Cambridge Wines (7-9pm) at Twin Maples. And if you are practicing a "Dry January" just come for the cheese, sparkling water, and friendship. As mentioned at our Holiday Luncheon, The Fortnightly Club is in the midst of a membership drive, so please bring a friend. Let's celebrate the new year together!
As we close out the year, the club's Treasurer has shared a few recent financial highlights:
Santa at Twin Maples netted $8,169.00 (these funds will be applied to the essential repairs and preservation of clubhouse - Twin Maples).
Holiday Luncheon netted $1,639.50 (of which a portion of proceeds will go to revitalize a local Summit playground - near the train station).
The Summit Foundation has awarded The Fortnightly Club a grant in the amount of $15,000 towards installation of ADA access to Twin Maples!
This is wonderful news and as you contemplate end-of-year giving, please consider making a donation to The Fortnightly Club. Thank you to all our dedicated members who have worked tirelessly on all aspects of running this unique organization.
