Book Club – Brown Bag & Movie
Thu, February 28 @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm
We thought it would be fun to compare and contrast the movie based on last month’s novel. Bring your own brown bag lunch and we’ll meet in the media room. The movie is 2 hours and 9 minutes.
To Kill a Mockingbird is a 1962 film based on Harper Lee’s 1960 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. It stars Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch and Mary Badham as Scout.
The film received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics and was a box-office success, winning three Academy Awards, including Best Actor for Peck.
In 1995, the film was listed in the National Film Registry. In 2003, the American Film Institute named Atticus Finch the greatest movie hero of the 20th century. In 2007 the film ranked twenty-fifth on the AFI’s 10th anniversary list of the greatest American movies of all time.
